Tourism and Recreation Clients
RRC Associates offers research and consulting services to ski area and resort operators and various non-profits, tourist organizations, and others interested in the tourism industry. Our work projects normally include primary research to document visitor demographics, satisfaction with various attributes of the visit, competition, advertising awareness, feedback on areas for improvement, spending patterns, and other key areas of interest. Given our depth of clients, we are able to provide a performance benchmarking analysis, which compares individual resort operators to industry norms. These studies frequently form the basis for advertising plans, capital improvements, branding concepts, or marketing master plans for our clients.

Trade Associations and Trade Groups
RRC Associates also provides research and consulting services for trade associations and trade groups. A variety of research tools are used to track participation or purchasing trends, including panel surveys, focus groups, and on-site surveys as well tracking industry statistics and transactional data. Typically, RRC's efforts result in various types of written and statistical information, as well as strategic advice regarding planning of conferences, improved vitality and growth of the industry, identification of key metrics for future tracking, and evaluation of effectiveness of current programs.

In addition, RRC has been instrumental in developing the "Model for Growth," a long-range visitation projection and strategic marketing tool that has helped the industry achieve growth in both visitation and profitability.

Canadian Ski Council - RRC has provided extensive strategic and statistical tracking for the Canadian Ski Council and its several region association members. This work manifests itself both in the Canadian Model for Growth, and also the National Demographic Survey. Extensive communications of results take place at regional and national meetings in Canada throughout the spring and summer.

Colorado Ski Country USA - RRC has had an ongoing relationship with the Colorado ski industry and has conducted numerous studies for the state's trade organization, Colorado Ski Country USA. The firm has used intercept and telephone surveys and large online panels of Colorado skiers and riders to gather timely and precise information concerning participation and opinions regarding economic impacts of skiing/snowboarding on the state economy, dynamics of the industry statewide, and evaluation of specific programs such as the 5th Grade Ski Passport, etc.

Private Clubs
RRC Associates has valuable perspective on club-related real estate evaluations. The firm has been involved in planning and programming for various types of clubs, ranging from golf to alpine skiing-centered facilities. Frequently our work involves totally private membership clubs, however, issues often involve the integration of destination hotel/resort guests into the facility with the minimum of disruption. We have also frequently worked on evaluating various types of real estate-related resort club and interval formats.

Typically, our work involves the use of survey research to probe the opinions of members or prospective members or buyers. RRC has conducted research at the earliest stages of club planning, but we have also continued on with many club facilities to investigate satisfaction levels over time, fees and dues structures, and amenities and features that are desired by members.

In addition, the level and volume of "draw" of each event in attracting visitors to the destination, along with an analysis of the resultant economic impact of each event in terms of generating benefit to the local community, is also a key component of the studies. Actionable suggestions for improving each event are provided. Surveys of visitors and of target markets are conducted using intercept, mailback, telephone, and Internet survey techniques.
